Research interest

I am interested in the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in anthropogenically used ecosystems. Currently, my research focuses on the rejuvenation of ash-rich forests which are affected by the ash dieback. On the one hand, I am studying the influence of abiotic factors and different provenances on the establishment success an performance of ash juveniles. On the other hand I look at different mixtures of alternative tree species that may contribute to conserving biodiversity associated with common ash (Fraxinus excelsior) and to improve recommendations for silvicultural measures.
